How do I remove door panels?

Does anyone know if the lower part of the door panel (the grey part on my truck) is separate from the upper piece, and can be removed separately so I can replace the speaker?

Also, is removing it something I could try as a rookie, or are there some tricks and tools that might be better left to a pro?

Thanks for your help!

- Dave

No, the lower grey part is not separate. If you search, you can find detailed instructions. There are five screws, some clips, some wires, and two latch cables to disconnect. A panel removal tool (like a big fork that you can buy at an auto parts store) is helpful.

I'm definitely a rookie and I was able to do it, so I say go for it. Besides, sometimes when you leave it to the pros you don't quite get the quality of work that you hope for.

One precaution, be careful when pulling the panel off. I broke one of the panel clip holders on one of the doors. I glued it back on and it seems to be ok, but just something to keep in mind.

Good Luck!
