Audio Buddies-I'm trading her off, maybe!!

Well after looking at SUV's I decided to trade my Titan off for a 2005 Toyota 4runner Sport Edition. I need to decide by tomorrow. With the problems of the Titan ever looming all the time and the fact I need more room for my audio (lol). The gas mileage was killing me too with a average of 12-13.5mpg. If I decide to do the trade I know the Titan will be missed.

I really like the punch of the V6 in the 4runner 245hp and 285lb/tq and better gas mileage and no TITAN problems...lol.... I ended up getting $22,100 on trade and paid invoice for the Toy and a $1000 rebate..Pretty good deal

There some room for a hidden sub in the Toy? How's that V8 model compared to the V6?

V8 wasn't bad pretty strong in the 4runner.. The V6 has just about the same amount of torque as the V8 model and not to mention better gas mileage. I still thinking of sub box design and put in a request at www.woodlawncabinetry.com

strange how you are trading your TITAN in on a new 4runner. i had to decide between an 04 4runner (wife) and an 04 TITAN (me). we were looking at a black limited 4runner v6. but in the end we decided that we could get more use out of a truck. so she is soldiering on w/ my 97 pathy se. we will trade it off next year for either another pathy or a 4runner. win/win situation. good luck and stay in touch.

My father in law has a new Forerunner. They're nice, but we've gotten pretty spoiled to all the room in the Armada. Not to mention the vrooom factor.

Heard that!!! The Titan engine is very powerful.. I'm tired of the $50+ dollar fuel ups everyweek. The Titan still needs some more refinement and no doubt it will be the truck to have.. I love the Titan and someday I will own another one.

FYI, The 4 runner v6 doesn't really get that much better gas milege than the Titan. It also requires premium fuel. So really your gonna be paying more.

fyi,

It requires 87 per the manual and yes it does get better mileage.. Mine was a 4x4 in which I was lucky to get 13mpg in the Pocono's!!! I just drove the 4runner from the dealership 45 miles and the gauge is still past fuel..OH YEAH!! My old Titan same trip would have moved off Full and almost on 3/4 full.. I will be getting 18-20mpg with the new 4runner..

Bestatchess, Yes someone will be getting a complete dynamatted truck...lol When I removed my headrest monitors I left a huge holes in headrests..dealer was fine with that.. go figure!!

Observations:
2005 Toyota 4runner Sport Edition 4x4

1. Brakes soooooooooo much better
2. No rattles!!!!
3. The interior is real nice, fit and finish is excellent like most Toy's
4. Lacks the Titan V8 power (I will miss that)
5. 4th generation Toy so I know the bugs for most part are worked out
6. A true import!!! Came in New Jersey port from yes JAPAN!!
7. Stereo for a factory is much better then the Titans, though thats not hard to do..
8. Rides better ( to be expected)
9. Paint job is better. Nissan Q/A to blame for some of our problems
10. Actually wouldn't be afraid to take it off-road

My friend has a V6 4runner, he said he can barely break 15 in the city with it. I get 15 in the city with my Titan.

I sold my 2000 4Runner for my Titan and IMHO the 4Runner was a nice small SUV. The new one looks like crap, so had to pass on it. Drove the Limited Tundra, and loved the ride, hated the exterior and boring interior. Looks the same as it did in 2000. I liked the Titan outside and the power was the closer. My company pays for all the fuel so that does not matter to me. The only truck I would get beside the Titan would be the Escalade or Hummer truck, but not interested in those price tags. Toyota needs to redesign the 4Runner looks like a minivan.
