In channel or 3m tape?

Hello there,
I know this probably has been addressed before, but I need advice.

My service manager said that with all of the 3m tape wind deflectors they have put on, they have never had a problem with them coming off.
He said the "in channel" ones have clips that the window hits, and said as long as the 3m is put on a properly prepped surface, it won't come off.

So....should I get the 3m ones the dealer has so they can install them??

Thanks!
Crickett

Actually my in channel ones use 3M tape to attach, not clips. Sounds like the dealer is trying to sell you what he has. I think the in channel are much cleaner looking and they are easy to install yourself in about 15 minutes. Go with either the Wade brand or the weather tech brand. They seem to be the best ones. I have the Wade and they are great fit and quality. Hope that helps.

The in channel ones are superior. If they ever need to be taken off it can be done in two minutes for all four windows (crew cab) with taking your time. I buy all of mine from www.weathertech.com

I have the in-channel made by AutoVentShade. They use the
3M tape and it takes 5 mins to install. Just use the alcholol pad
that is provided to wipe the channel, put the vent shade in place,
close the window and keep it closed for 3-4 hours so the tape
will adher all along the channel. The Part Number for the KC front
is AVC192823. Most places that carry AVS's should be able to
order them, if not in stock. Around $35-40. They're a nice, clean
look.

I installed the AutoVentShade also and love them. No clips just 3M tape. I actually used a paper towel with alcohol on it to clean the entire inside surface just in case. Very clean look and no noise from wind. Got from ebay for 29.95 for crew cab. My bug deflector is also AutoVentShade and that also entered into my decision.
