Sag Calculator for downfiring subs

Guys,

For those interested in making a downfiring sub box you can use this sag calculator to determine if the sub you want or have will sound good.

Yeah sure did and the calculator is right!! There is a good link on that calculator site to read on downfiring..

Toyota,

I love it!!! The quality is so much better then the Titan its ridiculous. I do miss the Titan it's a great truck and with a few years of refinement it will be top notch.. I've had the Toy for two weeks now and only filled the tank once...lol... The Jeep is nice and I thought about the Jeep but I'm so turned off of the BIG 3 quality. JEEP is a proven platform though so you should be alright.. The audio sound will be so much better in the SUV not to mention louder..lol.. I'm still piecing together my system (wiring I need) waiting on shipment then the dynamat.. I ordered a new sub box my subzero the ABS122 considered the best prebuilt box on the market. Can't wait to get that in!!

I tried entering in my info to the calc. all was ok except for the part where it says
Woofer Xmax (one way):
I looked online to find the specs on my sub, and it had the Xmax in mm (7.9) and inches (0.3). I hope it wants mm because when I entered inches it says its not good for downfiring. But when entering the mm number, it was good. I am getting a down firing box installed this FRIDAY!! Please be mm....Please be mm...Please be mm...

p.s. I have this sub

It's in MM, I haven't plug your woofer in but if you put in MM you should be okay!! When I get home tonight I will take a look for you.. If you have time read the document that's linked on the calculator site.

I had my subs installed today. But when I went to pick up the truck, they told me that my amp was blown! Now I need to get a new one. Anyone have any suggestions. The people said that is should be a D class Amp, Mono Block, 2 ohm Stable, and oh yeah, Small! They mounted the Amp where the jack goes because there is not much room behind the rear seats in '05 CC SE. And as always, money is an issue! Thanks in advance.

was the amp new or old?? typically shops will blow equipment then tell you it gone when they received it so you wil buy new stuff from them or they have no liability

sounds shady but it happens

how much power do you need?

and that is a really small area by the jack why not put under one of the front seats??

thats seem really odd that they coudlnt figure that one out --lol

It is a year old. And the reason they where against mounting the amp under the front seats is because of the vents. They said they would get really hot when I had the heat on. And my subs say 1100w on them, other then that, I have no idea how much power is needed.
