storage on headliner

Has anybody customized the console/storage compartment on the headliner/ceiling... I am having a hard time finding words to describe that console, sunglass holder, storage 'thing'. I have had thoughts of molding another monitor into it (instead of flip down monitor) and gettin rid of all the storage... ??? Just wondering if anybody has done anything w/ that yet besides mount Sat radio in/on it. Thanks.
Also had a stupid thought of mounting amps up there... I think it would be cool to fabricate a fiberglass amp rack that would replace that... Cover w/ plexiglass so you can see the amps when you look up.... probably dumb idea....

you can mount an amp on the celing as long as you have the struts to support the weight. I ahve seen it doen at car shows and magazines.

I always worried about it fallign or soemthing--lol

you must have a 05 or something and cant put it on the rear wall??

I woudlnt mind makingbetter use of mine also
