cb radio???
has any body installed a cb unit in their titan if so tell me all about other then my tires this is will be my last mod so I want to do it right any suggestions or personal experiences/problems would be great to here I dont want to make a mistake
I installed mine under drivers seat. I dont like it visible. I have the rails in my bed and used one of the slide locks and mounted it on the rail on the cab. Made a bracket to mount K-40 antenna and bolted it to the Nissan slide lock. Now I can move the antenna left , right or in the center. Easy to do and looks good. Rails are grounded to the truck so no ground problems.

talltexan thanks for the info but I am new at this and am having a little bit of trouble understanding do you have pictures? and what rails are you talking about?? and who makes your receiver??
I have a UNIDEN radio that I bought from a CB shop. I had it tuned to approximately 16 watts output. The tie down rails in the bed if you bought that option. I used the rail which bolts closest to the cab on the front of the bed. Nissan gave you 4 cleats and 4 slide locks. I put one slide lock in the front rail and bolted a 3'' x 3'' 90 degree piece of 1/4 inch aluminum by slotting a hole on the bottom of the aluminum to fit into the bolt on the slide bracket. I then bolted the K-40 antenna on the bracket. The slide will go from one corner of the bed to the other so you can have your antenna where ever you want it. If no rails, just mount the bracket directly to the bed right behind the rear glass and run the cable down between the bed and the cab. Undere the passenger seat is a plastic plug you can pull to run your antenna cable up through under the carpet. Seal the opening and run the cable over to where you mount the CB. I just ran a ciggarette plug back to the 12 volt plug in the center console rear. I can remove it easily or if I leave it in, it is out of the way. You can find a lot of ways to mount the CB under the seat. I made a simple bracket to keep the speaker off the carpet and used velcro to hold in place.. Pretty simple if you just look at it. CB shops also sell a bracket to mount your anternna on your bed. I have not mastered adding pictures yet but if I do I will add some pictures . My CB is comparable to a Cobra 29 and sounds really good. Get a good CB tuner and you will have a good radio.

that is a great idea but i dont think it would work for me next week i put on my K-Cover four panel hard cover any other ideas? thanks for all the GREAT info though I have never installed a cb radio before
I had a CB, police scanner and radio all installed in mine until I resigned from the agency last August.
I put the scanner and radio in the center console and ran the wires under the center console/shifter area to a speaker that was mounted just under the dash below the steering wheel.
I had the Cobra hand unit style CB which only required a small connector box installed under the console out of the way. The handheld unit was attached to a small mounting bracket against the center console where it was out of the way and also easy to reach.
For antennas, I ran all wires under both of the side trim panels, out through small grommets in the rear of the cab, into a pre-existing holes in the bed, down to the end and out through the cutouts in the top rail.
After I resigned, I removed everything or I would send you some photos.

DCTITAN, You can mount your antenna off the fiberglass cover but you will need to run a separate ground to the bracket. There are some good magnetic mounts out there also. A good CB shop can help you locate a good antenna and will usually set your swr's for free with a antenna purchase. They usually have some good deals on radios too. Just tell them you want a good radio at a reasonable price and tuned. There are kits they put in the radio which makes the radio sound very good and have better range. If you were in Houston I could give you some names of folks who could help you. Good luck!

thanks talltexan i actually dont the fiberglass cover but thanks anyway have you ever heard of someone clamping onto the side of a window??? just a thought I dont know if it could be done or not just a thought/question. Also i dont want it on my roof i have got a low garage and it would just get annoying. Any other ideas of where to put it would be great I will be going home next week so i plan to do this mod then
There are magnetic mounts which you can attach to the metal part near the back window and turn the antenna 90 degrees up. I have seen folks use velcro to attach antennas with a ground strap. There are some window mounts but I would not want to run wires through my windows. I would just use a magnetic mount and stick to the roof near a window and run the wires in. Then you can remove any time. There are some good portable CB radios with the full 4 watt power which will work also. Can be plugged into your cig lighter for power or batteries. Lot of options.
