Interior Lights

Has anyone tried to change the little orange light we have in front of the map lights that sheds a little (I mean Little!) orange light down on the shifter area? It's barely noticable. I had a similar red light in my audi and it was pretty cool, but ours doesn't work very well. I'd like to put in a red one that would shed a nice red light down on the dash and shifter area. I know pep boys et al sell aftermarket blue leds but their prett cheezey...
