Here’s some video action. The Mic in my camera is crap but this will show you the bass force (sounds many times better while in vehicle). This is with 12.8v (when truck is on volts is 14.5) and volume up to the midway point. Only bad thing is that the bass created new rattle’s in the dash.

Had to take the box out to repaint. Here's a pic of the rear; good place for maps and magazines. I was thinking small 9 inch tv but was afraid bass would damage it.

Think it's a great effort, and probably sounds really good, Im not a fan of the way it looks inside the truck itself. Too bulky for me, but that is personal pref.

Size comparison with center bench. The box was actually longer but I knocked off 8 inches.

Chris, I like the concept of what you've done. One question though...Why did you point the sub forward? Did you test it both directions? I would think that it would sound better firing aft...but I could be wrong. I agree with Trikky in that it looks a little big in the truck. Must be something about the squareness compared to the seat. Just some ideas...at the least I would route the edges and get rid of the sharp corners. Also I would look at carpeting the box or leather over foam would look sweet and be softer.

Now for the next project a fiberglassed box with a contoured top would be perfect lol! But I can't say too much because I have never fiberglassed a box before!

Yeah +1 me on the suggestion. Carpet/leather and round the edges would help. It is interesting that it is about the same size, I think the square is what makes it look bigger than it is.

My original plan was to use 2 12's (front and back) but since the box was too big I settled for the one in front and made a storage area in the back. And since my kids sit back there I know my son would have a field day. I can still go with 2 12's but my truck now has some major rattles. Even with the music turned off the driver air vent squeaks like crazy (over 900 watts rms going to that sub) . That paint was suppose to be a dark grey like the dash but it does match the seats. I will try to find a warmer material that is cheap.
