Im in norcal

I se 8's firing forward now, im thinking fo going bigger to fit some 12's or maybe a 15 in the middle of the front seats

did you see my box??

heres the thread

thought Id finally put up a pic of my two 8's

if you want im selling my box

some more info

may be selling my box and subs--interest??

and if you are running 8;s firing forward soudns the best I found

the best 8's

if you are runnign two

1) 8w7 most SPL and mechanical throw, but I prefer the # 2
2) tc sound/soundplinter MOST SQ/SQL and cleanest
3) crystal comp8 --cheapest of the bunch

if you are running four

id highly recommend the image dyanmics idv.3 8" or the elemental designs 9kv.2

good luck

find a good 8 that will take power and large volume and it will more than fill your truck unelss you are a bass head, or you change speakers liek the weather like me--lol

I would have oput my tweo 8's off 1000w up against any high end ten south of the 10w7 or the eclipse Titanium (which is made by the same company just a bigger motor TC 9 vs TC2+ that I have) or a idmax or something

but I know the liquid sounds good as an idea, but I have used it, the only place I would consider using it as an advantage is the roof, but you have to think of all the masking and plastic you have to lay down, and then you have to wait 24hrs for it to cure

Id just use the new raammat man its 60mil thick (better than dyanamt, brown bread, fatmat) and its butyl based ( no apshalt) so there is no smell at all

and becasue it is thicker you only need one layer vs two of waht Im suing

I havent used it yet, but a friend of mine did, and I wish it was out when I got my brown bread (and you knwo how much I rave about brown bread--LOL--it just got too expensive)

test the spray whatever you want man, but Id pack it up,and ship it right back

Id just hate for you to come back in a few day after blasting you car and it smelling like crap

and yes thats the same stuff same can, same bad nozzles, and I d0nt care what there docs say I had 12 cans ( all different batches) and they all smelled like straight chem labs

bought mine from partsexpress.com luckil they have a great customer service dept and gave me my money back in FULL (even after the OWNER tried to tell them that there wasnt anything wrong with the product and I must have applied it wrong)

the cascade tech are awesome, VB-1X liquid is awesome, their FOAM is awesome, there deflex pads are Awesome, but that spray man SUCK ROYALLY

I warned you bro

I was talking with Eclipse the other day about the Ti series and he mentioned to me the Ti's series are pure SPL subs and not meant for SQ. I wanted to upgrade from the 8122's I have to the 9122's and he talked me out of it.. He said if I wanted pure SQ with awesome SPL stay with the 8122's they can take insane power..To me SPL is DEAD!!! It serves no purpose and its not musical..

I agree why would you want to listen to something that doesnt sound like a drum

I never uderstood that--speakers were designed to reproduce live music, not just just make loud sounds

You got me all worried now...LOL!! I will test on a board first and go from there.. I bought it from partexpress as well so thats good to know they back it up...If it's like you describe I will just use it on the outside of the vehicle under the rear secton of the 4Runner. I only planned on using it on the inner panels of the doors where you can't dynamat very easily then I was going to cover the door with dynamat.. I'm glad you warned me I would have just started spraying the stuff..lol... Good thing is if it damages my vehicle then I can take them to court and get a BMW X5..LOL...

Has anybody tried the Cascade damping paste? I would think that this would be ideal for doing the insides of the doors. 5gal=100sf.....think that 5 gal would be enough for a CC?

Update w/pics:

I was able to run the power wire, rca's and speaker wires for this update. I had to drill a hole for the power wire in the passenger side firewall. It is much lower than the factory grommet which is difficult to get to. I also installed new battery terminals. The factory positve cable mounts to the terminal and a circuit breaker is behind the battery.

Passenger side firewall

Postive and negative terminals

Grommet...view from underneath, picture taken on my back looking up. It is right below the condensation drain.

Looking good. Kinda funny that I used the exact same battery terminals and nearly the same place in the firewall to run my power wire. Mine actually ended up coming out just above the A/C drain line.

It is kinda funny because I just noticed your thread and we're pretty much at the same point progress wise.

More Pics:

I fabricated a speaker baffle with 3/4" mdf and used an additional 1/4" hdf spacer because the Focals are too deep. Behind the baffle I used foam gasket tape to seal it to the door. The baffle is secured using nuts and bolts in the factory mounts.

Exactly, it'll probably help when either of us have a question since will probably be at the same stage of install. Hopefully I'll get the matting, speakers installed, and amp board done this weekend. Then comes the major project, making another sub enclosure (number 3 to be exact.)
