Rubberized Undercoating??

This may sound crazy but I'm going to ask. Has anyone used this on the inside of doors as an alternate for damping?

I think that would work ok but if you are going to go to that much trouble spend the extra $$$ and use dynamat. I am going to do it with mine and cover the doors and roof. I calculated it will take 2 bulk packs to complete the job. One for all doors and one for the roof.

BTW I have a King Cab.

I was thinking it might save time and money. Still undecided

undercoating

Undercoating works great for interior damping BUT...
1. It's time intensive to do it right. An installer has to mask everything and make sure drain holes are not plugged.
2. Multiple coats need to be applied.
3. Should come with a lifetime warranty.

Since that is rare to get, dynamat is a better alternative.

I've heard there's an odor problem with using undercoating inside your rig. I've done the back of the cab and floor with the Dynamat and it helped. There is a vent that seems to allow much sound through. I'm considering putting foam or a bunch of rags there. Undercoating under the cab also helps. Althought there is some there, I found it so sparce that one spray can added to it made a difference. I'm thinking a couple of more cans on the bottom should improve keeping the sounds where I want them, music inside and exhaust outside. I am changing the tip on the Banks exhaust which I've read can help tame the noise.

Good luck in your quest for noise control.
