I second that. I had the antenna on the dash before, and had lots of cutouts. Somehow the coatings on the glass seem to attenuate the signal.

I moved it to the outside of the truck and wow, what a difference. There are a couple of spots around where the signal will predictably cut out, and those are by power lines.

Hope this helps.

Re: Sirius signal cutting out constantly

I have the Replay with the antenna sitting on the sunroof cover under the glass. I never have problems with cutout except for the previously mentioned garage and gas stations. It might be that it is not fully plugged in as some have stated or maybe the angle of the antenna on the sindshield is the cause of the problems. I would try getting it outside of the vehicle and see if that helps.

Re: Sirius signal cutting out constantly

I've got the Sirius XACT Visor model radio...the cheapie...It works great. I mounted the exterior antenna through the overhead console and headliner. It works great but I mount the radio on the dash - Got tired of looking through the antenna wire hanging down from the headliner so I put Velcro on an antenna disc and at the front of the dash. I was told with tinted window that the antenna would not work But it works just as well as the exterior antenna. I drive from the SoCal area to Idaho about once a month. The only place the signal is lost for no reason is on I-15 near the Raceway...Nellis AFB is there and I think they jam the signals for security in that area. Otherwise it works fantastic. I move the radio to my company car a Ford Crown Vic and put the antenna on the dash...still works great.

Just my $0.02 --
