Looking at a Titan: lots of interior/AV questions!
Hola - joined here a little while ago but then left, now I'm back. Basically I'm a 2004 Murano lover wishing to get back into a pickup truck, so why not SHIFT_a size or two up, into a Titan?!?!
Anyways, ok, here's the deal.
I love the Murano's interior and dash except some of the way the non-Nav screen looks, and compounded with the fact that you cant change the HU... So, if I get a Titan I'll have the option to do that and more.
I currently have a Garmin GPS system that rocks - I tried the Honda Nav recently to see what an integrated unit is like, and am trying Nissan's tomorrow if possible while the Murano is getting her oil changed. Honda's was thorough and their new generation is voice activated, but it's a little clunky to me in the "intuitive?" dept.
I also have XM, which also rocks - haven't listened to "regular" radio in a year now, except for catching some Don & Mike sometimes in afternoon rush.
So, my questions are these:
1. to Nav or not to Nav on the Titan?
1A. If not, what's the cleanest way to run the power and speaker wire from the Garmin, mounting it in the pocket above the dash and having to plug the speaker end in at a power point?
1B. What else does the Nav screen display/do?
2. Get the full blown factory HU with XM, or go double-din aftermarket?
2A. How much info is displayed on the stock radio screen when in XM mode? Does it give artist and song as 2 lines at least?

I think this is a matter of personal preference. I chose no nav and ordered the Lowrance iWAY500 for only $630.00 which will be delivered on Thursday. It has a 20 gig hard drive of which 10 gigs is dedicated to a MP3 player.
I wanted the flexibility to be able to move the GPS to other vehicles. Last year I rented a van to do hurricane disaster relief work in Florida and it sure would have been nice to have had a GPS.

Factory nav will only allow one line display, you pick it.
Factory screen lets you adjust autoligts, door locks, And some other stuff just don't know right now.
I went after market Kenwood 7015, nav, MB Quart speakers, 2 10" subs, Sirius But it also costs about 1k more than factory system.
One negative thing with factory nav, no touch screen, Not enough custom setting.
one negative with mine, always worring about it getting stolen.
You could still use a after market double din radio, and keep your garmin.
I haven't heard a factory radio that I like yet. There might be one, but not for the money they want or packages you have to buy with it.
My wife is happy with her factory Bose setup, and it sounds okay.
Just not for me, not enough bass, not able to tweak it enough.

Just got a Titan SE today. I also got a Kenwood 7015 that I took out of my STI and will want to install on my truck.
Just wondering how you got yours installed. Looks like I need a custom dash kit to fit the Kenwood dual din receiver.
If you have the stock cd player, no RF, no 6 disc changer, you unscrew the clips and put them on your kenwood. Simple as that.
If not you'll have to buy the base radio trim, about 30 or 40 dollars.
