Drop down dvd..Need help with wires

I am installing a drop down DVD in the location of the stock monitor...This will not be hooked up to the audio controls...EVER! Only wireless headsets.
I am thinking that I can use the wires from the rear controls. The player has 3 wires and I would like to tap into the rear control wires..there is also a connector that I think is for the stock monitor also...I just need help which wires to tap into the rear control harness...I really do not want to run wires any further than I have to.

These are the three wires from the DVD DROP DOWN
1. RED ACC
2. YELLOW BATTERY
3. GROUND EARTH

So if you can tell me or have the harness on a diagram and point to the wires you would make my daughter very happy!!! Thanks

here's the rear control diagram. The dome lights may give you the battery wire

After looking at the wiring diagrams for a bit there does not appear to be ACC, BAT and GND at the video screen location. However, if the wiring harness is in place for the DVD system then there is a round-about way to get there. If the DVD player was present there would be at least two connectors plugged into it, one green and one blue, each has 16 pins. One of these connectors has ACC, BAT and GND. The other connector has signals which go to the video screen location. The connector at the video screen is white and has 12 pins. If these connectors are in place then it would be a rather simple matter to jumper appropriate pins at the DVD location (M205 and M206) to get the required power and ground to the video screen location (R202).

If these connectors are not in place them it would be necessary to run the power leads from another location.

Check to see if the connectors are in place and if they are I will go into detail on how to connect it up.

good luck.

I wonder if you can splice the AV from the aftermarket dvd player and run it from the front where the deck is so you don't have to remove or run wires to the headliner?

what's everyone's input on that?

Adobe7, there is an icon of a box with a camera inside. Select what you want and it copies it to a clipboard. Then just paste into paint or some other photo program.

There should be a violet wire on pin 13. That would be your ACC. Black wire on pin 15 is the ground. I don't see a Battery wire but I think the dome lights should have a constant power to them.

I don't get the question? Running wires to the monitor through the headliner is really pretty easy. You just need to remove the top seat belt anchor on the b pillar and then take off the trim. I can't remember for sure but I think I also took the door seal off on the front door along the b-pillar. With the top b-pillar trim down there is a space between the body and the headliner that you can easily run wire through. then just run the wire down the b-pillar and pop it out under the passenger seat. There were a few holes already in the carpet for other wires.

If you really want to wire it up so that you can get the audio over the cabin speakers, select DVD on the HU and also use the rear controls built in IR follow the link in my signature.
