Angry Aux in jack

Does anyone know what is up with the Aux in jack? I have tried two different Mp3 players, and the volume sucks, I have to crank my AMP up, just to get some decent volume, does the IPOD have any issues running through the AUX in jack?

yes, the aux input line sucks. your best bet is to get a PIE inline amp about $35. It is a pretty easy install. Sammy Sandbag started a thread a while back that will guide you through it. I was able to put two in one lines into the inline amp, now it works both my satellite radio and ipod.

check out sammy's work

Aux In jack - can't say exactly what your problem is, but I'll assume that the audio ouput from your ipod is too low. I'm using the Aux In with a Digital Media Player, and the output of that device was too high, which caused distortion in the audio signal. My solution was simple, add an in-line volume control to reduce the input level. Your problem is not solved as easy as mine - if it's what I suspect, too low an input, there's nothing much you can do short of adding an in line amp to increase the level at the Aux In jack.

I have my XM RoadyII plugged into it and it works just fine. However, you have to CRANK the volume control on the XM!! No big deal though!!!! WORKS GREAT!!!!

Ipod belkin charger and amp

If your only using an ipod i would get the belkin charger it boosts the volume and charges your pod for those long trips. http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...uct_Id=149006#

Re: Aux in jack

Anyone else get a "buzz" through the speakers when using stock "Aux In"?

seems like it just does it when the dash lights are on....

Re: Aux in jack

I use my iPod with the aux in. Not the greatest volume, but plenty loud enough for me when I crank up the iPod (without introducing any distortion).

Re: Aux in jack

I got an Ipod Nano as a Christmas present, and it is run straight through my Aux jack in the Titan. It's plenty loud, I think if the deck volume is set at 15 and the Ipod volume is all the way up it is close to ripping the speakers.

Re: Aux in jack

I just installed my new Sirius Staremate Replay. I hard wired it into the ignition and ran the audio into the AUX. I didn't hard wire it into the AUX so I can still plug in other media tools. It sounds awesome. I have it turned up 2 notches from all the way and with the volume at 13 on the Rockford system it jams just like the CD player. No buzz when dash lights are on.

SIRIUS ROCKS!!

Oh yeah, the Starmate Replay is a perfect fit where the GPS would normaly be, and it is removable so you can take it inside.

I played with it a little more and discovered that it only buzzes when the dash light dimmer potentiometer is un use. (IE, if the dash lights are on their brightest setting it doesnt do it.)

If you play with the dimmer the sound goes up and down, too.
