When you replaced your door speakers did you...

Use the factory wiring or did you run new wires from your HU or amp? If you ran new wires, how hard was it getting through the looms in the door jams? They look pretty loose, but getting to them might be a bit of a pain. I haven't really taken a good look in the dash to check the possibility, but I thought I would ask the veterans...

I ran new wiring. Getting the wires through the door boot was tricky. Some people have said they used a large zip tie. I used a stiff piece of insulated wire and taped the speaker wires to it to feed them through. I also popped the boot out on both sides and tried to compress it as much as possible so the length that I had to feed through was minimal. It is tricky and can be frustrating, but it is worth it. Good luck!

I used the existing wiring. I've been doing that for years in lots of cars and unless you are going to run 500w rms to the door speakers I don't think you will ever be able to tell the difference.

I ran new wiring..it was tricky getting it through the boots, but worth it. The factory wire was very thin!

I also ran new wires, including two sets of wires through the back door rubber boots for both the tweeters and woofers. The front was a bit harder just because you don't have as much access to the boot. I also removed the glove box to make it easier to get to the right front, I'm not sure it's possible to do it without removing it.

why did you take out the glove box??? I didnt have to do that?

I also ran my own wiring (14-16 ga) after first using the stock wires

anything over 50wrms---run your own wire

the stock wire is only 20-22ga VERY thin

Like I said, just to make it easier to get to and see what I was doing. Like you said, it can be done without doing so, but it's simple enough to remove. Plus I ran my wires from the right front to the left side then down the left gutter, just made it easier to work around. Right now the only thing in my truck is the dash and drivers seat.
