Does Scosche NN03B harness work with RF system as well?

I want to install my Kenwood DDX-7015 in my '04 w/ RF package. Can I use the standard 95+ nissan harness (NN03B) without any problems?

Does it still retain the full functions of the factory amplifier and subwoofer?

I have my XE stereo trim on order. Will I need anything else? Are there factory radio brackets behind there that I can remove and attach to my 7015? Just looking for a heads up before I pull it all apart (and yes, I've searched for the last hour but only found threads about upgrading the base system )

There are several people here that have used the NN03B with the RF unit. I have one but haven't installed it yet. I'm not sure why you'd want to hook up to the factory amp and sub, as I don't know what kinda signal strength the oem amp takes.

My new dash kit should come in tomorrow, so I'll probably be doing the same, but I won't be running anything off of the oem amp.

eakes posted instructions on how to bypass the oem amp using Molex pins & wires so as to use the oem speaker wires to drive speakers from an aftermarket headunit.

This is known as a "bypass harness". You can buy those for some other vehicles with oem external amps, but none is available for the Titan as far as I know. Here is an example of a bypass harness:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-N3YcOJT...bypass+harness

I have to mess around with my RF HU tomorrow morning. I will try to measure the speaker outs (I think they are way low) as I just got a decent RMS DMM (Fluke 189). I am pretty sure that your Kenwood DDX-7015 is going to put out alot higher signal strength than the oem HU. BTW, the stock speakers are 2 ohm.

I saw the bypass harness and printed it off....it was very nice of him to make that diagram, will save me hours of work

I didn't realize the stock speakers were 2 ohm. I don't beleive it would be wise to run 2 Ohm speakers off the internal Kenwood amp. Aren't they only rated at 4 ohm??

Please post your findings and recommendations for those of us that are not that into car audio but still don't want to mess it up modding it LOL

I am using the stock front door speakers and dash tweeters with a Blaupunkt HU at 22 watts RMS per channel. However, I am using an inexpensive set of RadioShack crossover networks between the radio and speakers. The rear channel feeds a set of 10 inch woofers with parallel tweeters in ported boxes. (I took out the rear seats and have the speaker boxes hung on brackets on the rear cabin wall).
Given the relative low power level available (15 to 25 watts) from aftermarket HUs, it is not likely the HU would be damaged by playing into the stock speakers. More probable is that the speakers would blow if one cranked the listening level too high for too long.
