Tailgate Incognito...

I don't know about you, but one thing that always bugged me about the look of this truck was the billboard style badge on the back of it. Then I ran into another Titan owner who's kind of a hot rod collector, and he showed me what he had done. I HAD to have it. He gave me the info of the shop that did it, and I was down there the next week.

Anyway, what do you think? (I hope this comes out, I haven't uploaded images before)

Very nice. I would like to do that to mine but am afraid of the cost. That black placstic looks especially horrible (and cheap) on silver Titans like mine. How much did it cost?

maybe it's the night time pic but it looks too naked for me, might look better with the tailgate chrome.

Hey Man.... (Sorry, had to do that)

Cost on it was about 200 bucks for the paint, then another 35 or so for the extra plastic tailgate piece. Which you need to get, unless you want to drive around with a hole in your truck for a while. I was fortunate enough that the guy who showed me his truck like this, loaned me his. Very cool.

Anyway, here's a picture in the light.

I've thought about this very question more recently. I don't mind the black plastic - gives the truck a distinctive look over all the other trucks out there (aside from the massive "FORD" badging on ... well F150s etc.

I know 1badtitan added a nismo badge on his. Are there any other bad alternatives? I think maybe I remember someone putting "TITAN" on his ... any other ideas?

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. I prefer the chrome piece I put on, sorry, no pics yet, camera on lay-a-way.

Personally I like the OEM black or the Chrome Trim piece that's available better, but as long as you like it then it really doesn't matter what any of us thinks. Just enjoy it! To me, it's just a little too plain looking.

Looks better, yes...

But, I'm waiting for some company to come out with a new tailgate skin, top and handle relocater. For a completely shaved look. Basically re-skin the outside and get rid of the whole raised area, nasty handle/emblem...

It might be a couple of years, but someone will do it eventually...

hey guys,

Yesterday I ordered a cab for my truck. They will take out the back tailgate. Looks like I wont have the logo and distinctive look anymore.....
I , too, am a fan of the 'look' of the Nissan tailgate, but after reading this thread, I'm not so afraid that others will disapprove of the change. (hehe guess I'm kinda sensitive )
