I would guess that any aftermarket knob made for a nissan would work. Some come with changeable insert to accomodate a wider range of vehicles. I know this doesn't necessarily answer your question but at least you are getting some feedback.

I just installed my new shift knob tonight. Got it from www.123truckaccessories.com. The stock handle came off very easily. This knob comes complete with several different sizes of plastic inserts with set screws and an allen wrench.

Exactly, it comes off with no effort at all. I was expecting it to be very difficult.

Ok, I have 1200 miles on my truck. My nuts aren't big enough to twist hard enough on the knob to try to unscrew it yet....
I had that feeling at first also. It went away right after I took the entire interior out of the truck and realized it was just a bunch of cheap plastic.
After you take the shift knob off, preferably in Neutral, you can pull the plastic shift gate piece up and off, it is just held by clips. That gives you a nice path for pulling wires to the console box (e.g. to mount switches for aftermarket accessories, to wire mp3 players to the AUX input, etc.)
I found it interesting to note that the lateral shift positions for 4th and 1st actuate micro-switches. Apparently the whole concept of a center console shifter is just a throw back to make Neanderthal's like me more comfortable. They could easily do away with that and just have buttons on the steering wheel.

Interesting info, because I have an iRiver and a ham radio that I plan to put in. And yes, I had a push button Chrysler many years ago, so buttons on the wheel (or paddles like a Murcielago) would actually suit me more than the whole shifter thing.

Saturday I took the die grinder to mine with 4700 miles on it, Sunday I replaced the stereo, today I ripped into the console to install my XM tuner. There is a nice spot that fit my alpine XM tuner up in the front of the console.
