Anyone swap their single CD player with the stock 6 cd changer ?? If so ...How?

Hi Guys,

I am trying to replace my single cd player with the OEM 6 cd changer. Has anyone done this before ? If so, could you tell me how u did?

Thanks,

Judging by your name, you have a SE model. All SEs should had come with the none Rockford Fosgate 8 speaker, 6 CD changer. It was an option for XEs in the preferred package. How did you wind up with an XE's single CD stereo?

Just curious, have a good one.

SEs without the popular or preferred (I forget which it is) come with the standard single cd double din headunit. I wish people would quit calling it the "XE" headunit as it is misleading. No offense meant.

At least in 04 this was the way it was.

So in other words, you 2004 SE owners didn't have a choice of the none RF 6 CD changer? You would have to go up to the much more expensive RF stereo?

If so, that blows.

Good luck on the swap out.

Have a good one.

Now guys, I just talked to a guy that lives in my town, and his "2004" truck is identical to mine, except he has an SE, captain chairs, and king cab. He doesn't have the RF stereo, but has the same 6CD stereo that I have.

I thought you guys said that your truck only came with the single disc player or you had to go up to the RF stereo. I don't get it, do they have different options for different areas???

BTW, the gentleman I'm referring to just joined Titantalk.com and his handle is The RHINO.

Just confused over these options.

Have a good one.

On the SE model one has three options for radio. Stock which is a single CD radio, midline which has the 6 CD changer but without the external amp and the Fosgate which includes a 6 CD changer and an external amp. The OP bought an SE with the stock radio (single CD player). His desire is to remove the stock radio and replace with a midline 6 CD changer headunit. This led to his question: has anyone done such a mod and if so, how?

What option package does this midline, none RF 6 CD changer come in? I've been on Nissans USA site, Kelly Blue Book's site, and Edmunds web site. There is no mention of 3 stereos. It's either stock or the RF 6 CD changer package.

Have a good one.

On the 2004 models the midline radio was included in the Popular package. On 2004 models if you did not order either the Popular or RF package you received the single CD radio on the SE model.
I just checked the NissanUSA site and the midline radio is now standard on the SE for 2005. The only model with the single CD radio is the XE. So what we have is a change in the standard SE between 2004 and 2005 as far as the radio is concerned.

Ditto Eakes. My 2004 brochure shows a standard cd for Se w/out popular pack, (which also included power driver seat, pedals, compass in mirror, etc.) He must have an SE w/out popular. I would think if He got hold of the 6 disc it would just plug and play. He would need the face plate, it has buttons
that are needed fir radio functions.

Re: Anyone swap their single CD player with the stock 6 cd changer ?? If so ...How?

Yo, folks -- rejuvenating this thread because I'm looking for the same answer.
Bought a 6 CD OEM radio (sat. ready) and want to replace the SINGLE CD unit on my XE. Has anyone done it? I see no one ever really came up with an answer.

It's new, taken out of a new Titan -- paid $119 plus $20 shipping.

But now, not sure what it's gonna take to make it work.
