Place to get headunit install kit, just the black part!

I purchased the OEM double din faceplate and was wondering where I could get just the black adapter piece that the headunit goes into.

Also, does the factory headunit have metal brackets that hold it in place? If so, could those plates be modified to support a single din headunit? I recognize that the OEM faceplate would have to be modified to close the holes on the top and bottom (I was thinking about centering the headunit in the double din opening).......thats ok because I was planning on filling and painting it anyway.

Any advice on headunit installation would be appreciated.

I have a metra kit i'm selling that is single din and has a pocket on the bottom.
