Remote start immobilizer bypass module

I'm in the process of installing an alarm on my 05 LE and I have purchased the DEI 556u immobilizer bypass module and I would like to know if I need to use the ring that come with the bypass module or can I tap into the factory immobilizer system.

I would use the ring. www.the12volt.com is a great forum for questions like this. I know my XE did not need anything. Of course that was after I installed the DEI bypass unit. I ended up taking the key out of it and unistalling the unit, but you are going to need it on the LE.
