Fosgate upgrade
In my opinion, one big problem with the Fosgate system in the King Cab version of the truck is the use of only midrange speakers in the rear as well as their very poor placement. My preferences in how I like a stereo system to sound may be odd, but I hate the use of rear mid range speakers to add "fill in". I do not understand why the system designers don't like highs or lows from the rear. The Fosgate system is similar to the crappy Bose setup that came in my C5 Corvette except the rear speakers are even in a worse location. I totally redid my Vette system with new speakers front and rear as well as many mods to the head unit to alter it's sound.
As a test, I took off a rear door panel in my Titan and temporarily put in a good 3 way 6.75" speaker. The improvement was marginal, little mids or highs make it to the front seats. When I added a 3.5" mid/tweeter in parallel with the stock midrange speaker and placed it against the rear window, the results were dramatic. Again my tastes may not be the norm.
Has anyone added new rear speakers so they point toward the front?
