windshield mount satellite antenna

I haven't seen any photos of these yet, so, here goes, I had my Nissan XM antenna and receiver installed about 2 weeks ago.

was that your only option, I would think they have smaller versions....as my gps nav antenna is about 2 in X 2 in and mounts on my roof

I think that's his radio antenna. It has one of those balls on it.

I'm interested to know if you have reception problems due to this location. I have the same thing, dealer installed and my signal cuts out CONSTANTLY while driving through town, or driving along wooded roads. I had XM in one of my previous cars with the antenna mounted inside on the center of the dash and it only cut out going under underpasses. It's a major PITA.

Is that the new OEM install location? I like mine on the back glass much better...less obtrusive, but mine still seems overly large compared to the little Terk ones.

I'm sorry to see the choice of antenna your installer made. It is far more obtrusive than the micro antennas that came with my SkiFi 2 and Roady2 XM radios. They are less than two inches square and the thin cable easily fitted under the gasket of the third brake light. No leaks and flawless reception on my trip from Washington State to here in Virginia.

Your antenna does have the advantage of not needing to run a cable, however small, from the outside to the inside.

Has anyone installed the new Sirius S.I.G.M.A. (Sirius Interior Glass Mounted Antenna)Antenna? I guess it adhere's to the inside of your windshield close to where your rear view mirror is attached. I was wondering what the signal strength was like.

I installed a Sirius SIGMA along with the OEM receiver. Got the stuff from Jamie at TitanParts 247. Signal strength and sound quality are excellent. About the only place I loose it is under a metal structure thats fairly close to the antenna, such as at an ATM or when driving into my garage (double skin steel door). Driving under a bridge seldom affects it.
The SIGMA cannot be seen from outside the truck. Although it's not a "micro" antenna, it's size, shape and location make it just about "invisible" from the inside.

^ is that was I saw installed on an LE w/o navi at the dealership?

Kinda tirangular, they had it placed at the top of the windshield close to the rear-view mirror. It looked very neat and out of the way...

And if you dont mind me asking, what did it run you from jamie? I'm working the 4th and 5th, with holiday pay, thats an extra $400 in my pocket...

Marcus . . . yep that was a SIGMA antenna. Jamie's price for antenna/receiver/brackets is $346.80 (plus $10 for UPS). The antenna piece of that was $62.90. I didn't use the brackets - I installed the receiver on the knee bolster under the steering column.
So was that $400 holiday pay before or after taxes? If you order from Jamie, you might call just to be sure he's sending the sigma antenna vs. a roof-mount one.

^ thanks for the info...

I keep going back and forth, I use to love my Sat. radio in my RSX-S. But I use to live in a small small town with a few country stations and one oldies station. Now that I live close to memphis, I get a good rock station...

But I hate commercials, spent the whole day in my uncles Silverado listening to XM, no thanks, they didnt have a rock station like Sirius. It was either too light to too heavy, Octane is about all I listened to in my RSX...

I recently bought the Roady2.

I had the same issue, until I realized I had it on pre-set 1-not channel 1.

Not saying your dumb as me, but that ended up being my issue.

xm reception sucks!!

I just bought the xm receiver with the same antenna as the one pictured above and I guess the same one as Th1rd3y3 has and the reception is very bad!!! It cuts out all the time even under a clear sky!! I am clalling Jamie a the Nissan dealer to see if he will exchange the antenna for the other style.
