Haha...woops! Broken window switch
Yep. I'm a bonehead. I'll admit it. I've got my doors all pulled apart so I can add some matting and do the rest of my stereo install. In order to still have functioning windows I've got the switches just plugged into the loose wires and shoved into the door holes so I don't close the door on them. Well last night on my way to work I jumped in my truck and, without thinking, reached down and hit the window down buttons. Problem was the switch was still in the door. I realized it almost immediately and rather than risk a broken finger, opted to shut off the ignition and open the door QUICKLY. Unfortunately for my driver's side switch, I wasn't quick enough. Even before I got my hand on the handle I could hear that awful sound of breaking plastic followed by the agonizing groan of the window motor trying to mash my switch between glass and metal.
Glass is fine. Metal is fine. Switch? Not so fine. Folded it in half and I had to break it the rest of the way in order to get the switch dislodged and the window back up. Can't imagine that thing is gonna be cheap. Oh well, stoopid hurts.
