RF display "no track title"

I have a question

I have the RF ststem, and ya know when you set the display to track title,
why is it that most of the time it says "no track title", I bought a brand new just released Def Leppard CD and it still says " no track title", but when I put a burnt disc I get track titles anyone know why??

Thanks

ED

The CDs have to be encoded from the factory. I have a huge CD collection (many of which are recent releases) and have only 1 which will display track title. I was very disappointed the new Foo Fighters release didn't have this info. for the CD player. As time goes by more and more CDs should come with this info. (at least until they go the way of LPs)!!! David.

Yeah, they call it "CD Text". If the disk you buy doesn't have them the best way to apply CD Text to make it display would be to rip the CD to MP3 (I like CDEX, but whatever you use is fine), then use your burn software (me likey Nero) to re-burn the CD.

You can also stick at least half of another CD, if not a "full" CD, onto the end of the disk you wanted originally. Plus this keeps your original CD out of the summer heat. (Which is an issue in these parts... eh WD? :)

If you did a straight dupe and it's displaying track tiles, then your burning software "helpfully" went out and got the titles for you, probably from the CDDB. I just never do that because so much of the disk ends up wasted... might as well put something on there.
