I have a XE that didn't come with power windows. So I got an aftermarket kit. The kit came with plastice covers to go over the window crank gear that sticks out of the door. Around the same time I bought a lathe, so decided to make some billet aluminum covers.
The other is a set of window switch bezels. Since my truck didn't come with power windows, there was a thin plastic cover on the door in place of the power window switch bezel. I originaly cut holes in it for the new switches, but it was very flimsy. Whenever I closed the windows, the bezel would bend and bow. So, I made some aluminum bezels with 1/4" aluminum plate. These were a PITA to make since I don't yet have a mill. It's not fun cutting 1/4" aluminum plate with a jig-saw.
Next aluminum project will be to replace the plastic vent slats with aluminum. Shouldn't be too hard to do.
Great work...very professional. Are you sure you won't make parts for us?
thnx,
I'm actually working on a few things. Keep checking the site, I'll have stuff up... sometime. This is the only Titan site I post at, so you all will be the first to see.
future items:
Carbon fiber or Carbon/Kevlar or Texalium intake covers
Possibly door handles to match, but doubt it. I don't think they'll look good on the Titan
maybe a body kit similar to the elusive "NISMO Titan"
hopefully a tonneau cover
eventually some more carbon fiber goodies
Anything I can turn on my mini-lathe
Any special requests?
But, aluminum parts like the bezels is definitely a no-go. Took way to long with hand tools. Maybe if I had a mill or water-jet. hmmmmmm
Nice parts, if you worked on those in China, we could all have a set for $.75 and you could send your kids to college with the profits.
