Adding HomeLink to an SE?

Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts on the feasibility of the upgrade?

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

Should be dooable. I think the harness is there. You could also just get some of the Homelink components from one of those homelink visors on ebay.

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

if you want the convenience, the directed garage module is cheaper, easy to install and is not car specific. connect two wires directly to the motor or wall switch, and then plug it in...that's it! you can control 2 additional features like house lights and/or motorized gates and fences; or programmed to existing car alarms and be used as back-up remotes.

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

I already have a keychain transmitter for my garage and was looking for something built-in to the vehicle. I'm also partial to choosing OEM parts when I can...

I'll pop-off the console lid where HomeLink goes and see if the harness is there.

Yep, base SE doesn't come with it nor autodimming rearview mirror
or audio controls on the steering wheel.

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

SmokenTitan, you have HomeLink built-in to the overhead console? Pics? As for eBay, all I see are the visors from previous Nissan models or the rearview mirror with it...

It switched from the mirror to the overhead console between the '04 models and '05.

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

The 05' Titan catalogs are not listed on any online parts website I have found yet, no idea of the price for that overhead, temp display, I bet it is $$$$

The `04's are in the rearview mirror, like the Frontier. I typed that message and then actually searched on ebay with no luck. I remember looking for one for my ex-fiance's civic they are actually manufactured by some company I think they ran about $400...

For the overhead console installation, I'm not much help there, sorry...

Keep us updated. Might just do a google for homlink mirror and see what pop's up. There out there, I just dont remember where, lol...

Re: Adding HomeLink to an SE?

I am sure I have seen someone else on here add one of the many HomeLink mirrors of ebay to their Titan. I don't think it is to difficult. The auto-dimming, Home Link Mirrors on ebay run around $50 to $200
