Seat Spring Noises

My drivers seat has developed a squeek from the springs and was wondering if anyone else has this issue and what have you been able to get done?

I have a 2004 SE Crew Cab bought new last Feb and I only have 5k miles on it (it does not get used much).

Re: Seat Spring Noises

Turn up the volume on your radio, install a Banks Monster exhaust system and your squeak is gone!

Re: Seat Spring Noises

Join the crowd! My seat squeaks bad. I'm going to attempt to fix it myself in the Spring- I already had it back to the dealer and all they did was "lube" everything and it didn't fix the problem.
Right now, I just turn the stereo up loud.

Re: Seat Spring Noises

Are you sure it's the springs? Mine was real bad - squeaked every time my weight shifted. The problem was at one of the rear mounts. I added a thin piece of rubber between the seat mount and the floor and the squeak is gone now.

Re: Seat Spring Noises

I'll check into the suggestions and turn up the radio in the meantime... Let me know if you come across any other good fix.

Re: Seat Spring Noises

Mine is terrible. Dealer replaced the base, did the magical lube thing, none of it helped. I think I've talked him into replacing the whole seat.

Re: Seat Spring Noises

this may help you guys, the squeek noise is most likely, coming from the seat mounts. loosing them up, and spray WD40 on them, that cured my noise.

Re: Seat Spring Noises

I will have to try and lube the mounts. Mine drives me nuts even with the Banks and the radio up loud Probably be better off using a lubricant rather than a penetrating oil on the mounts though.
