Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

So I put my truck in reverse today and the back up sensor is just doing a constant beep. I thought maybe there was something on one of the sensors so I whiped them off, but still the constant beep. It didn't do this before I installed my Satellite radio. Do you think that the wire for the antenna is causing interference under the dash, or due to the weather? It was raining all day yesterday, then turned to freezing rain/snow. Could the wires be frozen in back??

Re: Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

I had the same thing happen today. I think it had to do with the cold and the quick freeze we had last night.

Re: Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

Need more information: Vehicle kept outside or inside, heavy rain, cold temperature, etc. One possibility, if the vehicle is kept inside and the change in temperature, from going from inside to outside, create condensation on the inside of the sensor, could lead to sensor activation. Other possibility is that you may have a sensor that has not been sealed properly and moisture condensed inside. Now if the assumption is that the satellite radio may affect the sensor. One way to rule out is to disconnect the satellite radio for a short while and see if condition persists.

I have the same problem when the temp. is below about 20 degrees. They beep constantly when in reverse. When the temperature goes up the problem goes way. Others have posted the same problem.

A light coating of frost or ice on the sensors will cause this. Push the button to turn off the tone.

Re: Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

Marc, same thing happened to me today. Here in Connecticut we also had heavy rains then a quick drop in temperature last night, everything froze up.
Back up sensor had a constant beep while backing up all day, also had a rear door not opening all the way. Everything back to normal tonight.

Its usually frost that sets them off like that. just wipe them off with your finger and it works.

Re: Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

I wiped the sensors this morning, and still the beep...I am going with the weather related issue...PTitan: It is kept outside..we had heavy rains, then it suddenly dropped in temp over night to freezing...now temps are in the 20's.....not including the wind chill. I am thinking of spraying some warm water on them to see if that works...otherwise, to the dealership it goes.

Re: Back-up Sensor Problem. Any ideas?

Back-up sensors....HA!....I look in my mirrors just like my daddy did and his daddy before. The more crap they pile on these trucks, the more femanin they become. I $hitcanned the tire pressure sensors and would have probably done the same with the back-up sensors had I not been such a cheap-skate when I bought the truck in the first place. I still make excuses about Titans ONLY having an automatic trans. when my buddies laugh and remind me that I called THEM "nancy-boys" when they showed up with new, optioned out trucks. When I called up my best bud and told him about my new truck, he said, "automatic? Did it come with panty lace interior?". Uhhhh, were was I?....oh yea, good luck with your back-up sensors.
