I am also pissed b/c we are suppose to get snow this weekend, and I bought a truck so I didn't have to worry about driving in the snow, and this crappy little Cobalt rental isn't going to do sh!t in the snow. I told them I want a 4x4 as a rental then....waiting for the call back.
Like I said, my dealership ordered a spare for a reason. They said that a lot of the time when the window gets pulled out there is a chance of breaking it...maybe they just broke your and aren't telling you.

Sucks man, hope you get it worked out. FWDs are fine in the snow, just be careful....you shouldn't be made to use one though, that does really suck. Even though I live in Rochester, I didn't have a 4x4 for the snow well not for on-road snow, you just don't need it. However to have "fun" mwahahah you need it.

Re: Rear Window Leak

No Marc silicone won't do. It really doesn't stick that well to alot of stuff. even if it does the surface has to be perfect clean. On my old truck with rubber zip in gasket they sealed leaks with butyl rubber/it stays semi soft and sticky. I believe most windows now are held in with polyurethane. That stuff is amazing. I live in a log house and they used that to seal the logs. After 24 hrs you cannot get logs back apart. You will destroy the logs trying. I saw it done. The stuff lasts 30 yrs and is really flexible. Good chance of breaking window removing.

Re: Rear Window Leak

You don't even want to know how long they had mine.

I had a Dodge 1500 not Hemi for a warranty rental.

With due respect to Blackin, it reminded me too much of my old Caravan. It gets you there but there isn't much fun in the trip.

What is that smell in rentals anyway?

Just got it back today actually, so it sat in the garage at the dealership all day yesterday....which meant I sat at home We got probably between 8-12. They had to put a whole new window in, something about the window frame was slightly bent and that is why the water was leaking in. I am just happy I have it back. They could have cleaned it though after getting it dirty inside.

Re: Rear Window Leak

Glad it was taken care of at least they didn't say it was fixed and then you go back in a month or 2 and the rain is pouring in and it smell moldy. It sounds like they did the right thing(and expesive) not just a cheap silicone job which would eventually leak. Have you had any issues with your door handles freezing?? I have my dealer seems pretty good with just taking care of stuff they did brakes today and are ordering parts for the door handles.
