Truck Computers

Hey guys. I've been a member for I don't really know how long. But to day I finally became a real member of the club, and brought home a 06 KC. Just wanted to spread the word, I have a computer store in Kansas City, and have designed and installed acouple computers in vehicles. I can supply you with everything you need, or with a pre-built system running XP with GPS nav software. Or if you are close by and just need some help with the ol' PC let me know. Wulf Computers

Re: Truck Computers

Xenarc monitors work great. I installed the 7" near the center speaker, installed the CPU under the passenger seat (3 factory holes exist), use a wireless Rf mouse, in console keyboard, MS streets & trips, installed an inverter in the center console for CPU power, configured the CPU to power up when I start my Titan, plays DVDs, MP3, has WIFI (good for downloading music from home LAN), and navigation. Everything works great, my kids love it. The Xenarc also has two extra RCAs for PS2, cameras, etc. Entire install was less than $1,500. CPU has a 200Gb HD/1Gb RAM/1.6GHz, more than enough for carputer use. I mounted the screen on a resilient rubber mount for shock, its location allows all passenger to view movies perfectly. Still testing the CPU performance due to shock, so far so good.

Re: Truck Computers

These installs sound interesting. Would love to see some installed pics!!

What are the types of functions that available with the unit? I guess dvds, games, and wifi at the house or if you park in front of starbucks. What are some other functions that are currently available or will be in the near future?

Is there a way to have full time internet access? Have the touch screens proved to be pretty durable?

Re: Truck Computers

Check the link in my signature for some photo's in an Armada. Mine is a fairly simple install as I have navigation that I used as a monitor. Bestatchess and Troutspinner are a couple others I can think of right now that have PC's

Re: Truck Computers

I'll get some pictures out soon, I've been busy installing additional AUX jacks inside the dash so I can get rid of wires hanging outside.

Re: Truck Computers

OK, I took an extra long lunch and posted a few pictures in my gallery.
I can try to put in the forum once I shrink the Kbits a bit.

Re: Truck Computers

I just finished installing my system in a buddy's Titan. We used a motorized in-dash monitor for our install. And my system does not require an inverter to run. It is powered directly off the 12v system, or with the adapter for in-home use. I'll get pics as soon as possible. As well as nice price discount for Titan Talk members. I have tested my system for 1 year through freezing and 110 degree weather. If anyone is intersted in more information other than what is listed on my website Wulf Computers Feel free to email me at sales@wulfcomputers.com I'll get some good pics as soon as he comes by again. I didn't realize this topic had come back into play or else I would have replied along time ago.

Re: Truck Computers

Got everything hooked up and finally got around to getting some pics of it. The hole in the dash if for the Remote to the screen. The fit was close to perfect, and wiring was a breeze. Let me know what you think.
