Overhead console

Has anyone installed an overhead console. I have a 2005 Titan and there was no overhead console. I saw another Titan that had one and it looked pretty coo. I called the nissan dealership to see about purchasing one. They told me they were very expensive and that I may not be able to install one if it did not come with one. Has anyone installed one and/or know of any good after market overhead consoles. I'm looking for one with map lights some storgage area.

Re: Overhead console

I took mine off to paint it, its held on by 4 screws if memory serves me right, and it is held by metal brackets in the roof. I really doubt that a titan without an overhead console would come with those brackets, but its def. a possibility. If it is your best bet is going to a junk yard you can find a good one for cheap. There is also the wiring harness that needs to be purchased and installed.

Didn't Elbo recently say he was going to put one in? Not sure if it was him or not. Wonder what's the result if he was succesful or not.

Re: Overhead console

Hmmm, I'm thinking he is talking about a XE with no overhead console at all.

Surely that can be done, but the metal bracket is probably missing, and your going to have to cut the ceiling open, so you will need a template on what and where to cut.

I already have an overhead console, But am in the process of adding The overhead Computer Display. Which I have, currently I have the temp working, The compass doesn't work yet, as it has to be tied into other stuff. There is no harness with the correct wires, so this mod isn't plug and play. It's a bit on the more difficult side. I'll be posting the HOW-TO, soon as I finish it up.

I'm also adding the rear audio controls, later. I'm thinking I may need a different head unit for this to work. Since I don't have the rear audio controls button. Also I will have to cut the ceiling, and add a bracket for it as well along with a custom harness. I'll post a how-to on this one too, but after the computer one.

I've done a few SECRET mods, that no one else has done, that I've been sidetracked on lately.
