Installed Diff. temp gauge

I just installed a diff. temp gauge. The temp. went as high as 220 degrees, while driving around town. I have not tested it for highway driving. I have a PLM Diff. Cover. It has a threaded port for the sending unit. The temp. gauge and sending unit is GlowShift.

Re: Installed Diff. temp gauge

Looks nice, but I don't think it is heat that is making the rears fail.

Re: Installed Diff. temp gauge

It is never a bad thing to monitor things. And besides it looks good.

Re: Installed Diff. temp gauge

I travel long distances at a swift pace very often and my diff. gets very hot....but not hot enough to sizzle spit.

Re: Installed Diff. temp gauge

You can buy the PLM Diff cover at yourcovers.com
Black powdercoated for $215

My Diff temp. read 220 when cruising at 65 mph
245 deg. when ever I stepped on the gas to pass.

Re: Installed Diff. temp gauge

Doesn't sound like it working ....I find it difficult to understand the rapid temperature jump just by passing. have you even heated oil....It takes a while to loose the heat. Your post indicates you can regulate the heat generated with your throttle pedal.
