How can I remove a melted lip balm stain from my seat.

Any help would be appreciated. The stain is in the drivers seat about the size of a quarter right in the center.

Re: How can I remove a melted lip balm stain from my seat.

I've had good luck using wd40 to remove stains such as gum and lipstick. Just put some on a cloth and dab the stain. To get rid of the smell follow up with some frebreeze (sp?).

The shallow end of the gene pool needs some chlorine!

I would suggest she use a product with a higher melting point.

Good call.

Not an exact fix for your seat...but I bet you could adapt the instructions to work on the seat. Tell us how it works out...

Lip Balm Stain Removal <<Linky

Quote:
To remove lip balm that has melted onto your clothes in the dryer, place the stained surface down on pad of paper towels, spray with WD-40, let stand a few minutes, turn fabric over and spray the other side. Apply liquid dishwashing detergent and work into the stained area, replacing towelling as it absorbs the stain. Wash in hottest water possible with laundry detergent and bleach (if the item is bleachable) and rinse in warm water. Special Note: If the clothes went through the dryer be sure to clean the drum of your dryer to remove any remaining wax residue by spraying a soft cloth with WD-40 then wiping the drum. Run a load of dry rags through a drying cycle to ensure that your drum is clean.

Re: How can I remove a melted lip balm stain from my seat.

dont even bother getting it off your still going to see the stain!! Heres what you do get an exacto knife or any thing really sharp and run it over the stitching on the side of the seat where its all sagging from getting in and out of the seat. do like two of them side to side until it rips. Not in a straight slice! then take it in to your dealer and have it warrentied!!! but only do it if your under the milage!!! the service writter said they are good at covering the seats if theyre frayed!!! Its only a suggestion!!!

Re: How can I remove a melted lip balm stain from my seat.

since lip balm is a wax type material....maybe you can try the iron trick...

this works for getting candle wax out of carpet.....get an iron...(what you use to iron your clothes)....and put down newspaper and iron over it with low heat....repeat with new newspaper until its all lifted up. I am sure you can use this same method with different materials....IE small rag and a warmed up head of a hammer....etc

disclaimer: i have never tried this on uphostery - try at your own risk. just use common sense.

Re: How can I remove a melted lip balm stain from my seat.

Their is a product called "Soil Love"

It is available at most grocery stores at the cost of 6-7 bucks a bottle.

You can however find it at ANY dollar store. .99 cents a bottle.

This stuff WORKS. If you google it youll find people who are AMAZED with the way this stuff works. It comes in a green bottle.

No kidding dried up blood and I mean ALOT of it it will take it out of a white tshirt and you will never know it was their.

I keep a bottle handy in the laundry rooma nd in the garage at all times.
