Exclamation Cloth seat tearing up???

We had our 2004 Titan 3 days and the threads started to pop in the seams. We called the dealer and he said they would take care of it.

It has been almost 2 years and we just now got our seats replaced for the 5th time but because of all the calls and complaints and not letting it go they replaced them with leather this time. This has not been a great experience. But because I would not let it go they paid 4 truck payments, gave us 200.00 in Nissan cash, rented us cars everytime they replaced the seats, and upgraded us to leather.

Anyone else having this problem keep up the fight to get them fixed.

Re: Cloth seat tearing up???

I had that problem once, at about 11,000 miles, but now at 28k it seems that its happening again, they are not great quality either which makes them hard to clean, i guess i'll be visiting the deale soon. They replaced them no questions asked though. Maybe they'll give me leather too.

Dont misunderstand me I love my truck but I can tell you every where they could save a penny they did and its now starting to show up all over my truck. These seats and the interior are made of the cheapest materials.Sometimes you look at prices on vehicles and you wonder why some are alot cheaper than others. Now you know.

Not to slam Nissan, but do you remember about 5 years ago, when they were building quality cars that nobody wanted? Now the quality is almost gone but they have some hot products.
Nissan needs to now go back and use the current styling and cutting edge attitude and bring back the reliability and dependability of yesteryear.
I for one would pay the extra couple hundred dollars to see them bring it back.I am tired of all the cheap plastic rattling crap inside, and the mistakes they have made saving $$ on brakes, cat converters etc..
Hell I had an 88 Pathfinder for 13 years with 287,000 on odometer and it never let me down once.Yes the seat cushions collapsed a little but the covers were in great shape 13 years later.
We are feeling the effects of Renaults hand in the pot. Some good some bad!
They have cut their suppliers till they are left bleeding and we are seeing the end result.
If you would like an idea of the mindset read the book "Turnaround" the story of Nissan's failure and Renault's success with CEO Carlos Gohn.

I dont understand why the felt they needed to go cheap on the Titan when they seem to have done a good job on the Maxima,my wife has a 05 with almost 40k miles and it feels and looks as good as the day we bought it.

Re: Cloth seat tearing up???

I only have 8000 miles on my truck and the left side of the driver seat is breaking down. Every time it rains my seats get stained. I really love my Titan, but between the crappy seat fabric and the thin clear coat I'm starting to get ticked.

Titancrew05, can you not have a body shop make the clear coat a little thicker? I'm just wondering, it seems like they'd be able to do that somehow, but it may be hard.
