Re: Racing Seats for 04 Titan
There are a few different ways that you can do this. When I was building my frames I tried to start from scratch and I was going to drill all new mounting holes and make some real flash mounts/brackets. Then I decided to be smart about it and disected the factory brackets. Here is where it gets tricky. If you choose this route, YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK TO STOCK, without buying all new seats and frames. But, you will have seats that mount in perfectly every single time, and you don't need to drill any extra holes. You literally need to cut the old frames and seats apart down the middle of the tracks. Then once you have properly cleaned up all the loose ends and popped out the rivets that you'll see during the process select the type of material you want to use to tie them all together. I went with 1 inch square tubing. The tubing actually fits perfectly between the slots in the brackets. Then weld support braces from one side to the other, keeping in mind that this is probably going to be the area that you mount to. The whole process took me about two days. The rear seats on the crew cabs are the most interesting but also the easiest.
