How about some more details...
How hard was it to install?
Did you have to modify the window any?
Cost?
Time to do?
Thanks, and great job!
Thanks!
The cost was approximately $200. I am not sure of the final cost because I tried many things before getting like I wanted it. The main cost were:
Linear actuator $99
Switch 18
Relays 40
Misc wire, fuses, etc. ? Much of this I already had so I am not sure of the cost.
I used it for a couple of days without the relays, using only the switch. I quickly got tired of holding the switch down. I used a momentary switch but you could buy a switch that holds it s position but I did not want that. I currently have it wired to automatically close when I turn off the truck. I am thinking of changing it so that it does not close automatically.
It was fairly simple to install. I had planned to hide the actuator below the seat but decided that would be too difficult. The actuator is actually wire tied to the seat belt guide. I put a piece of rubber between the guide and the actuator to keep it from sliding. I did not have to do any drilling or any other modification to the truck, other than the headrest must be a couple of clicks up to keep it from hitting.
Attaching it to the window was what worried me the most. I was worried that I might break the window. I used a piece of flat bar, attached a couple of pieces of metal that I had bent a 90 degree angles to catch the window. The actuator is not physically attached to the window. I will try to get pictures of this tomorrow.

holy crap JT, that gave me a hard on!! how does an electrical idiot like myself get one installed or made? can you set one up for me where all i would need to do is plug and play?
that is the COOLEST thing i've ever seen on this forum!!!!
Im surprised no one makes a kit for the titan. I installed one in my '93 f-350, it was about $150 and totally concealed. I also had it in my 2003 ram, but I dont know if that was factory or not.
Very nice indeed! Great mod for those with rear sliders. Of course, now I'm starting to quiver with the endless possibilities of mods that I can do with these actuators... like raise my cover up at all four corners, with drop down side curtains or screens for tailgating / camping purposes... aaahhhh the endless possibilities... (why did I have to click on this thread??? lol )

Love it!!!!
You'd make a lot of friends if you could put together some detailed instructions with needed parts.
I ordered the actuator Friday to do the power tailgate lock mod. Should be here Thurs.

I need all of the friends I can get so here is an electrical drawing that I made and a fairly quick drawing that I made for the mounting. It took some trial and error to get it bent just right.
The switch that I have listed can be used without the relays if you want to hold the swich while it opens and closes. This makes the wiring much simplier. There is an electrical drawing of this on the actuator website, which is the same place I got the switch.
I am not the world's greatest with AutoCAD so there may be something that I did not show adequately. Let me know if you have questions.
That is absolutely awesome!
Very cool mod - Thanks for the write-up as well!
Now as soon as the temps here drop below 105 I will get to work.

A couple of weeks ago I tried to open the window on a very hot day and it did not open. The fuse was blown. I set out to find a slow blow fuse but found out that they are not available for a 5 amp mini fuse. While searching I ran across an "add-a-circuit" from Littelfuse. This is a neat item that allows you to add a circuit, thus the name, without splicing into an existing circuit. I bought two and installed them. Not only does it make for a better looking installation but I have not had a blown fuse since, even on 100 degree days. The original fuse holders had a rubber boot that I believe held in heat and caused the fuse to blow, due to derating of the fuse at high temperatures.
I have inserted a link to show the “add-a-circuit” but I got mine at Auto Zone.
