I have an '06 XE King Cab with the split bench seat in the front. I love the truck and the HUGE center armrest up front. Only problem I have (more of a personal quirk) is the material on top of the armrest. You know what I'm talking about, it's a vinyl-ish type material. Anyway, does anyone know where you can get a cover for the armrest top in a different material? My issue is my arm sticks to the armrest when I drive for long periods. More importantly though, I want the armrest to hold up over time and not get dirty, etc. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I have the LE with the bucket seats so I don't have the console you have, but I do have the flip-down armrests that are vinyl covered. Honestly, if you don't want it to get dirty, vinyl is MUCH easier to clean than most cloth coverings. I had cloth on the door panel of my previous truck and the door armrest was vinyl. The armrest was easy to keep clean but the cloth part where my arm touched over the years got grungy and was impossible to clean after a while. Just my .02... Maybe you can just get a nice washcloth to put on the armrest when you have to travel long distances. Throw it in the washer every now and then. Not to mention, the washcloth can come in handy for the inadvertent spill......
My x-g/f made me a cover out of fabric to cover mine. Has elastic around the sides so can slip it off and on for washings.

Blackbeauty is right, vinyl is much easier to take care of. Condition it every once in a while with Vinylex or something similar and it will hold up better than anything over the years.
That custom made cover idea is really nice, a local dry cleaner/tailor or a car upholstery shop could do it fairly cheap in any material. Done in a day or two. About $50-75. But yeah, Vinyl is by far the easiest, Armor All in beginning if that doesn't bother you, it'll clean up nice. Like mentioned above, I just use a $1 white towle and am ready to pick up spills from family or myself Not classy, but it works for now. Stows away for Truck shows. Think I'll see an upholstery shop soon, since you brought up this subject.
That cover is a good idea. I currently use the towel trick which is also useful for mopping up the slobber from my big dog. The console works great for keeping him in the back seat area when it is folded up too. He loves the truck more than I do and I think a nice elasticized cover would be easier to live with than the towel trick.
I actually have black Cordura seat covers and they came with a cover for the ironing board between the two front seats. I still prefer the vinyl cover over the Cordura.
BTW, for those that don't know, the "bench" seats are actually two individual bucket seats with a center seat where the back folds down for a massive arm rest/storage area.

Mine was made for less than $5. Was just a matter of picking out a fabric and color you like then a little sewing.
