I have done some searching on this site and haven't found any related problems, so here it goes.
I let a friend drive my truck (06 CC) so he could see if he likes it. When we stopped and he tried to take the key out it wouldn't turn all the way to release. After futsing around a bit I pushed the shift lever forward toward the dash and it released the key.
It didn't seem like he did anything weird. It has never happened to me before him driveing it. It has happened twice to me since then (that's all I've driven since then) and all I do is push it forward after I put it in Park. I do hear a clicking sound every time I do this and it concerns me. I'm taking it to the dealer tomarrow to see what is up. Just wondering if there is anything I am doing wrong or am I being too picky.
Since as Ag said it sounds like an adjustment, it shouldn't take too long. Drop it Saturday morning, have it back that afternoon. Let us know what the dealer says about it though.

do you have the captain seats with the shifter in the middle? This is a problem I have on mine when it gets colder outside. I'll slide the gear selector back up to park and it get stucks at the very top. I have to reach over and slide it the 1/4 inch to the left to make it hit park and release the key. It is almost like the lubrication system used gets cold and loses fluidity and makes things just slightly sticky. I took it in to the dealer and they couldn't reproduce, so they couldn't fix. But it has probably happened about 20-25 times in the two years I have owned the truck, and only when it is cold outside (below 45 F).

tholmes, I have exactly the same problem, I just moved home too Indiana from Southern California and since it's gotten cold out, I have to push the shifter to the left to get it completely in park.

the same exact thing happened to me, what you did was tried to turn your steering wheel when your car was off and key still in the ignition, the way to fix it is to pull your steering wheel down to the right as hard as you can and remove the key at the same time.

The steering whell wasn't locked (meaning it can move freeley back and forth). It just doesn't sit back all the way when I just go straight up to park. I have to slightly push the lever toward the dash and it will 'click' and the key will come out. Just a neucence issue which they still haven't fixed.
It was two degrees in Maryland this morning and this happened to me for the first time this morning. Dropped my son off at daycare this morning and the key would not come out of the ignition. Fiddled with it awhile and could not figure out what was going on, so I just left the key in the ignition while I ran my son inside. At this point I was sorta freaking out. Was contemplating taking the day off and just dropping it off at the dealer. But then decided to go ahead and drive to work and maybe it would correct itself by then. As luck would have it, when I got to work, the key finally came out. I rushed to my PC and logged onto Titantalk to find out my problem. Thanks guys.
I have this same problem with my shifter. I have to turn the key back on and pull the lever over to park. Especially when I just slap the shifter up to park in a hurry, it usually does it everytime. I need to take it in (Im an Audi tech myself) Im just lazy.

The shifter probably wasn't all the way into the park gear. It will only let the key out in park.
