Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

I installed my Scan Guage using the Blendmount custom made for the Titan last weekend. I posted the install instructions and photos on CC. The post is too long to repeat here. Go to www.**************/forums/showthread.php?t=26202 for the details. The end result is awesome IMO. The Scan Guage is exactly where it should be for optimum viewing. The Blendmount can be found at mgtmotorsports.com.

They don't like you to advertise for other sites. Understandable.

Re: Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

dont know where your pics are but checked out the blendmount. looks like a nice product and i think i may bite the bullet and buy it. looks like the best place to mount it without any cutting or modding. looks good.

Re: Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

I understand that "THEY" don't like us to post links to manufactures/ distributors that aren't official sponsors, but if we set links to their sites to show that we are serious about their products and we're serious about the mods that we choose...... They just might become an OFFICIAL SPONSOR. Hmmmm...... WHAT's everyone Take on that one?

I just noticed this thread and thought I'd drop it in to expand on my previous. TitanTalk.com Surpasses 8000 Members.
You would think any company would want to sponsor this site with 8,000 + members and who knows how many unregistered lurkers that visit. Just my .02.

Re: Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

ok.. I don't usually do this but what the f uck.. from the "other" place. BTW that took all bout 45 seconds to do. Should have posted this from the start

I finally got the Blendmount for the Scan Guage that was custom made for the Titan. The install was simple and took about 1 hour once the test fitting process determined what specific combinations were optimal. The only tools required in addition to the supplied allen wrenches were: phillips, 10 mm socket, 8 mm socket, and plastic trim removal tools. The install photos can be viewed at Pics

photo #1: shows the new pieces for the Titan specific blendmount kit including the CAT5 cable extension, the female/female CAT5 connector, and the new Titan bracket:

photo #4: the new pieces and the origional bracket "clamshell" collar and posts;

photo #5: the bracket with the collar and post attached;

photo #6: clamshell collar attached to the mirror post;

photo #9: clamshell collar with one (of 4) posts attached;

photo #8: collar, post, and bracket assembled ( I used the rearmost of 3 holes and next to shortest post;

photo #10: back of scan guage with H.D. Velcro attached ( extra Velcro supplied with kit shown below;

photo #11: show CAT5 extension cable plugged into the back of the scan guage after running it across headliner and before running it behind the door pillar trim;

photo #12: lower dash facia had been dropped with the end of the CAT5 ext. cable visible ( it's about 12" short of the OBd port);

photo #13: CAT5 ext. cable with female/female connector attached and origional scan guage cable attached;

photo #14 &15: end of scan guage cable plugged into the OBD port and extra cable tie wrapped;

Photos 16 &17: finished product with view of Scan guage from driver's perspective;

photo #19: side view of installed scan guage from passenger's side.

The end result is awesome. The Scan Guage is in the optimum position for viewing by the driver (IMO). And the Blendmount is extremely adjustable for individual preferences. I especially like that there is no drilling and no blockage of the instruments.

Re: Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

Thanks for your help P's Titan. I am just not computer savy enough to do what you did. I really didn't mean any disrespect by mentioning another Titan site. I just thought that Titan Talk members could possible benefit from my info, and I was just too lazy to retype and too incompetent to transfer the post intact. Thanks again.

Re: Scan Guage/Blendmount install with photos

Sharp mount P...........
As far as members, I was just going off of that post..... Double the members and double the chances that a rep might want to sponsor this site......Just a rant from a loyal NISSAN customer.
I like the look of that..... It doesnt look too deep so I should be able to do that or in the "Indash" position just above the Radio, even with the center RF speaker......
Great post with nice pics!!
