Upgrade 2004 HVAC controls to Dual mode climate

Has anyone attempted this or investigated if it is possible to upgrade a 2004 to the Dual Mode heater and air conditioning controls. From what I have found it seems like it would be possible. I believe all the required actuators already exist and it is simply the new knobs and control unit that would need to be replaced. My main concern is the integration into the navigation unit but have to believe that Nissan would not have made the HVAC system so different they would have been forced to redevelop this as well. I have noticed at times in the lower portion of the screen on both driver and passenger side 2 small blue and red arches that really look to me like they could be the location for indicating the current temperature setpoints. I know this sounds strange wanting to do this but I just don't want to put out more cash to buy a newer Titan until the 2008's arrive and I can see if the changes are better. Also this came about from my recent 1200km trip with my girlfriend where I sweated my butt off for 12 hours because she was really sick and wanted it warm in the cab. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest waiting until you see the 2008's and then you would be able to do an entire swap and probably be easier. This is also something I would love to do because I love A/C and the wench loves the heat

Re: Upgrade 2004 HVAC controls to Dual mode climate

I replaced it with the dual controls and it did not work. The air did work sorta, but not as it should. Also no digital feedback, so you couldn't tell what you were setting it to. This was on a Non-Nav unit where I added dual climate controls from a Navi equipped model. Everything plugs right up however.

The next thing to try would be the dual climate control on LE's I think that came without Navi.
