Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

I would like to upgrade to leather in my 06 SE Crew Cab and I am wondering if anyone has experience with companies like Katzkin or other aftermarket upholstery shops. I hate the stock stain magnets and I'm not big on any of the seat covers I've found. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

Try buying something called tuff stuff, its an awesome cleaner, makes the seats look like new again. I was going to do leather but then someone recommended that cleaner and now i am going to hold off until the cloth gets more worn. Katzkin and Classic soft trim are both great leather companies and both the installers for these companies in my area qouted me at 1100 for 2 tone leather. If you go to Katzkin's website or classicsofttrim.com they both list authorized installers in your area.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

my brother used to have a Scion TC that has Katzkin. the leather's really soft and cushy compared to the leather (or vinyl) that's on my Titan.

it's also durable too... because i have a cousin that weighed over 240lbs. sat in my brother's car during a trip they took from MN to Florida and back... and even he didn't stretch the leather. lol. i guess it really depends on how good they put the stuff in.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

I did the Katzkins as well, mine was the cheapest package, I got it for $399 I think. I did all the labor myself. It's really hard, hard work unless you are into doing that type of thing on a regular basis. If I do another car, I will probably just hire someone to do it. But needless Katzkins are great and it turned out great.

KMEDLIN your seats look realy good. How much did it run you? I was thinking about getting the wet Okole covers but there pricy and if it's not much more then I wouldn't mind getting leather.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

Ive been looking into leather and it costs anywhere from 800-1200 installed depending on color and material options. Its like $500 or so for wet okole right? Id rather spend the extra money and get leather.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

The Katzkin idea is really growing on me. Your seats look great and if I ever sell my truck I may recover some cost since my 3 years olds footprints won't have stained every possible seat. Now the only question is to splurge or not on the heated/cooled option.

You should be able to get it done for around 900 to 1000 with the suede inserts.

Re: Aftermarket Leather Upgrade

I went to a local guy who did the seats and arm rests for my car. Cost about the same, but was a custom job that makes the '98 car look brand new inside. Took him about 4 weeks though.
