Way to lock the center console?

Just bought an 06 this weekend. I'm thilled! I'm tall and have been cramped up in a Camry for 10 years.
I've been reading a variety of threads in the forum but don't know if this is an issue anyone else has.
The console between the two front seats is great storage area, however I'm already seeing two issues I'm going to have with it.
When I put it in the upright condition (when carrying 3 in the front or wife wants to sit close!) all the stuff in there shifts around. I guess I can keep stuff in zip lock bags, any better ideas?
Also, kids/people who ride in the back are naturally curious and could easily open the consule when it's upright and spill everything out.
Any options/solutions besides threatening to break the fingers of anyone who releases the latch from the back seat?

Don't just threaten, do it. Then tape pictures of your first few victims on the console lid, that will get the message across.
