Thumbs up Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

i just installed some flip down Sunvisor tv's and they look great. There made by a company called Performance TECH. i picked them up for 200 bucks at a local audia shop, check them out and lemme know what you think!! i use my ZUNE to play music videos off them so i still get to listen to music. I just plug my zune into my factory aux port and i cuztomized it so my aux port excepts video/audio feed. The color of the tv's match perfect with my interior all though the flash on the camera shows otherwise.

NOTE* these pics were takin during testing stages so you will not see my zune plugged into the aux port.

Look really nice, I'm going to have to see about some of those. Was that $200 for the pair?

Re: Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

looks great. How hard was it to install? You said you modified your aux port... any pictures or details on that?

Do you have the DVD player in your truck? If so how did you tie it to that too? Just wondering.

Install was Very easy because the way the 6 disk radios are set up, you can access all the wires you need just from pulling off the front dash piece where the controls are, and for the aux port i had to order custom female connectors and wires from

minute-man.com/acatalog/4_Conductor_3_5mm_Plugs_and_Jacks.html

not even radio shack had what i needed. maybe if i have time ill do a write up on it, as for the dvd player, the tv's have 2 channels AV1, AV2. i dont have the dvd set up yet but that will be no problem.Ebay sells a dvd player for cars that you just keep hidden. But for now i just play videos off my ZUNE.

I have the DVD player (Factory one) and this looks cool to have. My wife has always told me she wishes she can watch a DVD while on trips.

I of course dont really need it but still would be cool to have :-) This mod would allow me to walk around my truck while playing Guitar Hero and not screw up as bad. lol you know work the crowd in glamis right?!

Thanks if you have time.. this is a mod at the bottom of my list right now the first one is getting my 04 sliding window to be automatic :-)

Re: Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

Impressive! I really like the idea of updating the AUx port to do A/V. I'm not into the Zune, but it is very good product.

Re: Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

Damn it, now I have to get one. Can you think of a chain store that might carry them? I see them on ebay but I'd rather go local.

~I see cleavage in that first pic...what are you watching?? Hmmm???

Re: Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

Anybody know how you could hook up a laptop to the aux port once you've changed the port to audio/video. My laptop has an S-Video and a regular monitor out . It would be cool to put a movie on and let the people in the back watch the laptop and watch the visors up front.

S video to RCA - then Mini rca to RCA
then two mini RCA splitters to a single mini rca -
one for your audio in stereo and one for video to converge with the audio.

Technically would get all the components you need plugged in. I would have to find out how the aux jack was converted to do video also. Thats the part I dont understand but am willing to see someone else's genius at work

Re: Sunvisor Tv's (pics)

i have a adapter that plugs into your 12v and you cant hook it up to anything, ipod, laptop.. it hooks into your headphone jack of anything
it runs off of radio channels... just set it to tuner and pick which station you want (something low like 88.9)
