This is to gauge intrest in trying to get this company to custom fab a A-pillar for us to fit the 52mm gauges ( common size from autometer and other brands) The price is estimated from 45-60 bucks, they will need a minimum of 30 prepaid orders before they can make the mold and begin production more info can be read about it here.. http://www.gaugepods.com/custom.html
once we have a test panel to send to them we can move forward with a accurate price..

::UPDATE:: 7/26/07
Today one of the guys from gaugepods called me and told me that they will NOT be able to manufacture both a 2 and 3 pod a pillar.. we'd need atleast 30 confirmed buyers for each before they could start the manufacturing process.. since 95% of us want the 3 pillar I told them that is what we wish to have developed.. He said that our A-pillar is larger than most and should incorporate the pods very nicely, but on the downside it requires a lot of plastic so price will be higher than others on thier site.. Unpainted a-pillars will be black in color and about $59.00 ( notice this is a estimate!!) and to have them painted with custom tinted paint from a auto paint store it'll be about another 10 bucks.. not bad considering a pint of the paint they use is like 65.00 so thier not looking to make money on painting them, just wanting to put out a good product for us they are mailing me back the mock up prob early next week i'll let everyone know how it goes.. This one will not be what the finished product will look like the pods will just be held in place with hot glue/and styrofoam he said, thier main concern for now is making sure it has good clearance, and the proper angle to the driver so the gauges arent pointing out the window, hehe Ohh and we for sure will be losing the "ohh **** handle" so hope no one is partial to it,lol I'll keep everyone filled in on this..
Update 9/07/07
They will be sending back the a-pillar for last mockup and final approval next tuesday.. they are going to finalize pricing on tuesday as well, he still believes the unpainted (black apillar) will be 59.00 and painted a-pillars will be 65.00 and shipping will be about 10-14bucks on each item.. These prices are not set in stone but soon as he releases the "in stone "prices next tuesday people can start mailing me payments.. NO PAYPAL, NO CHECKS, ONLY MONEY ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED...
once i have 30 payments i will send off the order to gauge pods then they will begin the production.. i know we have 40 people intrested but i bet half of them won't even pay up.. so stay tuned to this thread, i'll put out my address for this soon as he gets definate prices..
Update 9/24/07
well finally got the a-pillar back after they moved the pods from our last adjustment took some pics so you guys can appove the placement..
note: the finished product will not look this way,lol you wont see air gaps, foam, nor glue marks, this is just for mock up purposes before making the mold..
only thing i see wrong my self is the 2nd and third one are just slightly turned more towards the window than the bottom one.. all the angles are identical, spacing is excact, but i asked dennis at gaugepods and he said being that the angle of the a-pillar near the top is diffrent than where the bottom pod is it'll be very very hard to make all 3 have the same excact angle and the pillar would definatly look awkward..
anyways i've been trying to call him for over a week now but they never answer i'm trying to get him to get that website built so people can start prepaying for thier orders..
Update: 10/8/07
GUYS THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE START PREPAYING TO GET YOUR GAUGEPOD!! here is the link just go to the site and add it to your cart.. can choose black unpainted or it will come in medium gray same as stock..
Please remember they will not start production nor form the mold till 30 order have been prepaid..
price is 59.00 unpainted
and add 8.00 for paint
please add a comment so we can keep track of how many have paid, so we will know how many we still need etc..
Latest update 12/17/07
this is a copy of a email i got from thier manager..
Under normal circumstances 2-4 months is sufficient. Unfortunately, thismold was extremely difficult to make due to the size and compound anglesneeded to satify the exacting requirements of vacuum forming. It took alot longer and cost way more than they estimated. The mold has beenperfected and is being prepared for the production run. An order has beenplaced for the presses. We should have some right after the holidays.

Re: So who wants a 1-3 gauge pod in a custom molded A-Pillar??
the stock titan gauges are next to worthless, any performance nut will tell you that.. the temps never fluctuate, even when thier is a problem, that's why gauges with temperaturemarkings on it with numbers is much much more accurate
i'm getting air/fuel, tranny temp, and nitrous pressure gauges
