12 Volt outlets different sizes?

I know Ill probably hear that this is in the manual, but I cant find it. This is for an 08 titan SE.

The passenger 12 volt outlet is a different size than the drivers side outlet. I can fit a spotlight and cell phone charger easily into the driver's side outlet, but they barely insert into the passenger side. Looking into each outlet, the drivers side opening has more depth than the passenger side.

I did see where the passenger side can be used for a cigarette lighter, is that why its a different size?

If so, can I modify it to be like the drivers side?

can someone check their 08 titan outlets and see if im crazy that they are not identical? there is something different that makes my plugs stick out further in the passenger outlet and it causes the plugs to fall out if lightly bumped.

I just went out to check and they are the same on my truck. Only difference is that the driver side one is always powered on and the passenger side one is powered only with the truck on.

I remember reading somewhere that one is a different depth for a cigerrette lighter.
