Dead Pedal

I don't have a dead pedal in my track. Do any of the models come with one, or has anyone put one that fits well in their truck?

Re: Dead Pedal

Unless something has changed in 08, the dead peddle is the raised area of the foot well along side the kick panel.

Re: Dead Pedal

Why do you need a specific place to put your left foot? Why can't you just put it where it's comfortable and enjoy the drive? It has a brain. Let it figure out where it wants to sit.

Re: Dead Pedal

I am not looking for a new place to put it, I am looking for a rubber protector to prevent my dirty feet from staining my tan carpet.

Re: Dead Pedal

I would highly recommend you look into some aftermarket (or OEM) floormats, not a 1 1/2" x 3" dead pedal! How small are your feet? Seriously, a dead pedal is useless to keep your carpeting clean since it's the LAST place you put your foot after you're driving, AFTER you rub all the crap off the bottom of your shoes while getting in, starting, adjusting, etc.... The dead pedal was invented as a place for the driver to brace his left leg during hard cornering. It's not a floor mat or carpet protector!

Re: Dead Pedal

I bought some thick rubber mats for my 08 for that exact reason.

Wow your wisdom is overwhelming!

I understand that you are a being of all knowledge, but your world and my world must not overlap.

I do have floor mats and plan to get the weathertech liners, however neither the floor mats nor the liners cover that part of the carpet. That spot is the most comfortable spot for my foot. An elevated dead pedal would keep my slimy shoes from smearing mud, clay, etc into the carpet in that area as the part of my shoe that is not on the pedal would be on the liner.

I was not looking for completely different solutions than what I asked for, I was looking for answers to a specifc question.

Re: Dead Pedal

I am looking for the same. I have had dead pedal's in many vehicles I have owned and when you don't have one you miss it. If the dead pedal sticks out just fare enough so the heel of your foot will rest on your all weather floor mats this will keep your carpet clean. I think I will start to design my own.

Re: Dead Pedal

ya'know, you can always go down to the local hardware store, buy a deep grove rubber floor mat, measure the dimension you want, cut it out, and then screw it into the OEM dead pedal area... instant dead pedal...

Re: Dead Pedal

This was one of the few things I found myself looking for when I bought my Titan. I needed a dead pedal before. Driving with a manual transmission for so many years, my left leg is naturally comfortable in a stretched position. Either right above the clutch pedal or on a dead pedal.

I'll be taking on this project myself in the future as well if nobody here has any definitive aftermarket parts that will work for the Titan as a dead pedal.

Re: Dead Pedal

Gee, you guys want one of us to come and do it for you? It's just a piece of metal you're bolting to your floor. It has to say "specifically for the Titan" on it? Geez..... It can't be very hard to mount any one of them. Plus they all pretty much look the same. A little ingenuity and personal inventiveness would go a long way to making it "your" mod, and not just something some guy came up with that you bought cuz he said so..... But, by all means, wait 3 or 4 more years for the aftermarket to feel that this truck is worth the depth of accessories as the Big 3 who've been around for 100 years. It could happen some day. Good luck to you.
