Cloth seat water stains

Ok guys I accidently found something to take out those water stains. My kid was helping me clean the windows inside the truck with Zep clear vision glass cleaner. Well he got carried away and started spraying the seats.Knowing how easily these cloth seats stain I was pissed.I wiped them down and was planning on cleaning the seats later in the day.I came back and was surprised to see no stains. It even took out the water stains that were there before. I was thinking whats in this stuff? The major ingredient is something called dipropylene glycol n-propyl ether. I googled it and it turns out to be the same chemical the dry cleaners use. So I spot cleaned all my seats. Works great! No need to evenly wet the whole seat anymore. I bought it at home depot.

Re: Cloth seat water stains

I'm not surprised, ZEP makes some good cleaning products. Whatever is in it is alcohol based apparently. Good Post!

Re: Cloth seat water stains

I saw this same post on CT last week, so I went and bought a bottle, it was like $3.00. Might try it out this evening if it's decent outside!!

Re: Cloth seat water stains

My future father-inlaw works for safelite autoglass. They have glass cleaner that cleans just about anything it touches. They clean their whole house with that stuff, they even put it in their carpet shampooer. We also use it to clean the grease off of our hands after working on the trucks. It amazes me the stuff that it can clean.

Re: Cloth seat water stains

Yeah - I finally got to Home Despot yesterday for something else, went to the cleaning isle and guess what product they were completely sold out of? I think the word got out already and all the other titan wners beat me to it. That, or it’s some kick-a$$ window cleaner…

Re: Cloth seat water stains

Went to a different home depot last night (needed other things - I'm not that seriously obsessed). They had it. $1.99.

Didn't work.

Re: Cloth seat water stains

Worse still is that my truck smelled like dirty socks this morning...

I have some other crap I've been using on the carpets that works pretty well, but I forget what it is. I'll try that and the glass cleaner again tonight just for giggles.
