As we all know with the exception of our Alaska members, summer is upon us whether we like it or not. I have a problem i can't seem to resolve, and wondered if you guys had any input or knew of a solution. I have a ScangaugeII hooked to my S2K and it's mounted on the dash by means of velcro. The heat makes a mess out of the adhesive backing as you can imagine. It looks like a snail has crawled across my dash. I found these little widjets here, but i wanted some input from the fellas.
Those work ok but they have to be cleaned every now and again. They get dirty and lose their stickiness.
Ah.....kind of like those slimy things kids got out of gumball machines? You had to wash them every now and then to keep the "stickiness". I heard they work for cell phones and stuff like that pretty good. I need something impervious to heat, but stays put.
I have some of these too and they work even better. They are designed to go on phones or pda's but I put one on my console by the shifter to hold my phone when I'm driving.
I got the universal pack at Radio Shack that had a variety of sizes. Look under Universal Shapes, they have a 4" x 9" sheet available that you could cut to fit.

I got some doublesided tape that the dealer uses for our mudflaps and tailgate bib for my Sirius Receiver.
Had over a year and it still sticks like new. I dont know what brand they use but it seems to work very well. I could find out for you if you wanted?
yeah it's definitely worth a try. This heat absolutely melts anything glue related so far. That stuff sticks real well i know. Thats a good idea. Wonder if it's just your average 3m stuff?

I dont get the same heat you do but we did have quite a heat wave roll thru a month ago and it didnt budge at all.
I'll stop by on my way home and find out for you. I need to stop by there anyway.
How much would u need? I could prolly get a foot or two and mail to you if you wanted
know what ya mean man. down here in florida heat index has been 100+ for the past few weeks now. my scangauge is on the top of the steering wheel and its doin the same thing. if you find anything that works let me know and id appreciate it.

I am going to try the double sided adhesive and see if that formula holds up better in the heat. I will post the results back when i get the tape from P's Titan. Maybe the tape isnt as gooey.
I use a heavy duty hook and loop (Clear color). sorta like velcro, just stronger. my CB is held on by it so is my IPASS on the windshield. I think I got it at Wally World http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/001014.php
