overhead console

Just wondering if anyone knows about the overhead console. I did not get the temperature and home link module with my truck. I want to get one and install it myself. First, does anyone know how the plastic console comes off? I took out 5 screws and it still acted like there were more screws?????? Second, it looks like the wiring harness is up there and not plugged into anything. Is this the harness for the temp and homelink module?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: overhead console

You might want to read up on this before you tackle it. I was gonna do this, I even bought the overhead console with the compass and home link but I sold the computer and kept the overhead console. Way to involved. Personally I would just get the mirror with the compass and homelink, It's alot easier to install. If you don't already have it. Do some searches there was someone who did it but they never got back to me. Good luck and if you do it document it and share.

Re: overhead console

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I just like the looks of the factory homelink. I did see the mirrors. They are nice also.

Thanks again.

Re: overhead console

Did you find out how to get the console off? My console just ate my Amex card... I can see it when I pull down after removing those same five screwws but it feels like I'll break it if I keep pulling...

Beside the screws they are held up by a few clips, yes it does take a little force to get it off.

Re: overhead console

One other thought. While the temp/compass in the console looks cool, it is in an awkward spot to read it while driving. The mirror is a WAY better way to go. If you look on eBay there is a guy that sells a comp/temp mirror that he can mod to other colors. Changing it to orange would make it fit right in the Titan and look like it was stock.

Just a thought
